Projects – Loumas Energy

Loumas Energy Limited, a fully Ghanaian-owned and registered gas trading company, is developing a 5 MMSCFD Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Compression and Distribution Project with facilities in Tema and Anwonmaso (Kumasi). This strategic initiative is designed to support industrial decarbonization and energy diversification efforts across the Southern and Middle Belts of Ghana.

Natural gas will be compressed on-site into high-pressure CNG and transported via customized CNG tube trailers directly to end-user facilities. This virtual pipeline model ensures safe, reliable, and flexible delivery of gas to industries without the need for fixed pipeline infrastructure.

Project Infrastructure

Compression Station 1 – Tema

Location: Adjacent to existing gas infrastructure (WAGP/Ghana Gas)
Capacity: 2.5 MMSCFD
Service Area: Greater Accra, Tema, Spintex, Afienya, Dawa, Kpone and surrounding industrial zones
Objective: To provide a reliable and cleaner energy alternative for industries in the coastal and southern corridor

Compression Station 2 – Anwonmaso, Kumasi

Location: Anwonmaso, Kumasi (Ashanti Region)
Capacity: 2.5 MMSCFD
Service Area: Kumasi, Ejisu, Boankra Inland Port, and the wider Techiman industrial corridor
Objective: To supply affordable CNG to industrial hubs in Ghana’s middle belt, reducing reliance on diesel and LPG

Target Market

Loumas Energy will supply CNG to a wide range of industrial and commercial users, including:

Manufacturing plants
Heavy commercial facilities
Agro-processing enterprises
Cement, textile, and chemical producers

Gas Supply and Integration

Natural gas will be sourced through the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) via existing Volta River Authority (VRA) regulating and metering stations in Tema and Anwonmaso, ensuring dependable upstream access and pressure regulation.
